Dublin is the capital city of Ireland with a population in excess of 1 million. It is situated on the east coast with an international airport and extensive sea ferry services. The climate is temperate with no excesses of heat or cold. The city has an increasingly international population but nevertheless retains a true Irish flavour

Dublin has a third level student population of over 50,000 and is a friendly and exciting city with excellent services and amenities.

Living Expenses

Apart from tuition fees it is estimated that the cost of living in Dublin for one year is approximately €7,500.
Most international students hold a part time job when studying in Ireland . Income earned is used to fund living expenses.

Travel Around Dublin

The city centre itself is small and the best way to get around is on foot.  The following services operate throughout the centre and greater Dublin area:

DUBLIN BUS

Times: Buses operate from 06.00 to 23.30
Routes: Reception will provide you with a bus timetable for your area.

NITELINK

An express bus service that operates Thursday, Friday and Saturday night (nightly at Christmas).
Times: 00.00 midnight , 01.00, 02.00, 03.00
Routes: 14 routes radiating from the city centre to the suburbs.

DART

Dublin Area Rapid Transit is a suburban rail line that runs around Dublin Bay , passing through the city centre. City centre stations are Pearse St , Tara St and Connolly Station (also a mainline station).

Times: Trains operate from 06.30am to 23.30

If you buy the special commuter ticket, travel on the DART is included.

Travel Around Ireland

Ireland is a small country - less than 500km north to south and less than 300km east to west. In such a small country it is never too expensive to get to where you want to go and all the major routes are well served by public transport.
